Can USPS print my return label?

If your retailer uses USPS Label Broker, yes — show the QR code at the counter and they print it free.

Common return problems

Return window overview

USPS doesn't set return windows — retailers do. USPS options include Label Broker (they print for you), carrier pickup from your mailbox, and Post Office drop-off.

Receipt rules

  • Ask for an acceptance scan and receipt at the counter — proof the package entered the mail system.
  • Blue-box and mailbox pickups may not scan for a day or more; get a counter receipt for valuable items.

Label rules and drop-off options

  • USPS Label Broker: some retailers give a QR code that the Post Office prints for you — no printer needed.
  • Free package pickup from your mailbox can be scheduled online for prepaid returns.
  • Drop-off option: Post Office counter (receipt + acceptance scan)
  • Drop-off option: Blue collection boxes
  • Drop-off option: Carrier pickup from your address
  • Drop-off option: Label Broker QR printing at the counter

Refund timeline by payment method

N/A

Refund timing is set by the retailer once they receive the return.

Common denial reasons

  • Prohibited items (lithium batteries in some cases, hazmat)
  • Label expired

Refund delayed playbook

  • If tracking shows no acceptance scan, the retailer may not consider it shipped — a counter receipt fixes this next time.
  • Contact the retailer with tracking; they can open a missing mail search with USPS.
